How to Add VMware ESXi Host on Veeam Server

To add VMware ESXi as a managed server in Veeam Backup & Replication, you need to follow these steps:

01. Launch the Veeam Backup & Replication console on the server where it is installed. 02. Click on the "Inventory" tab at the top of the console. 03. In the inventory pane on the left-hand side, right-click on "Managed Servers" and select "Add Server." 04. The "Add Server" wizard will open. Select "VMware vSphere" as the server type and click "Next." 05. Enter the IP address or hostname of the VMware ESXi server you want to add. You can also specify the credentials for connecting to the server. Click "Next" when done. 06. Veeam will attempt to connect to the ESXi server using the provided credentials. If the connection is successful, you will see a green checkmark indicating that the server is reachable. Click "Next" to proceed. 07. In the "Transport Mode" step, select the preferred data transfer method between the Veeam server and the ESXi host. The options include "Direct SAN access," "Hot Add," and "Network." Choose the appropriate mode for your environment and click "Next." 08. Review the summary of the settings and click "Finish" to complete the server addition process. 09. Once the server is added, you will see it listed under the "Managed Servers" node in the inventory pane. Now you have successfully added the VMware ESXi server as a managed server in Veeam Backup & Replication. You can now use Veeam's backup and replication features to protect and manage VMs on the ESXi host.
